School Closing Procedure 2004-2005
Should there be a need for either a delayed opening or school closing due to inclement weather, the following procedures will take place:
Bus Coordinator confers with Town Highway Foreman. Bus Coordinator calls Superintendent/Principal with Town Foreman's recommendation and Superintendent/Principal makes decision to call off or delay school based on that information.
Please check the following TV and Radio stations after 6:00 A.M. for closing information. We can no longer list it on our School District Website, because of a number of unforeseen technical difficulties cause the website information to be unreliable.
Television Stations:
WCAX, Channel 3; SAPA Public TV, Channel 8
Radio Stations:
WTSL, 1400 AM; WGXL, 92.3/93.5 FM; WXKK, WXXK, 100.5 FM;
WMXR, 93.9/101.7 FM
If schools need to call an early release due to extremely poor weather conditions, parents at the elementary and middle school will be contacted as instructed on their child's student information sheet.
The radio stations listed above will be contacted to broadcast the early release.
If Weathersfield Middle and Elementary School cancel, the Weathersfield High School connections from Springfield and Windsor High School will not be running and students need to make other transportation arrangements.

General Questions:

Emergency Concerns (Lost Child)
In AM - call either school from 7 AM on.
In PM - call WMS (674-5400) until 3:30 PM or WES (263-9224) until 4:15 PM
(A staff member has been assigned to the phone to help resolve or direct your problem or concern.)

LAST RESORT - Call police.
Bus Changes:
All students changing a bus must bring in a note signed by parent(s) to the office. Students will be given a bus pass to give to the proper driver. Staff on bus duty will be notified of any changes.
This procedure will be placed within the Home School Compact
and go home on weekly notices periodically as a reminder.
