A little history about my car-
I bought the car from my father a few years back. It had been stored in his
garage for the last 20+ years. Once I got the car home I thought I could do
a little work on the engine, replace the interior and then drive the car for
the summer. Well, the engine ran fine except for the exhaust which I
replaced. While I had the interior completely removed I figured it would be
a good time to give the car a coat of paint. I took out my electric sander
and began removing the surface rust and other flaws in the paint. It didn't
take long for the sander to drop into the fender about 1/2 inch. Seems as
though I had a little problem with some body filler. After this discovery I
continued around the car with my sander and found that whom ever had done
the body work on this car should have been a sculptor. This thing was just
loaded with plastic. All four fenders, the inner and outer sills on
both sides, the floor pans, left and right B post assemblies, the complete
rear deck, both rear inner fenders and while I was at it the front and rear
valances would all have to be replaced. So much for driving the car this
summer. |
