Geocaching is a new hobby or activity that combines technology and the great outdoors. It consists of the use of a GPS unit that enables you to locate various hidden "treasures" all around the world.

A GPS (Global Positional System) uses satelites to give you the coordinates of where you are or where you want to go. With Geocaching, you enter the coordinates of a Geocache from Geocaching.com into your GPS and tell it to "Goto" that position. Once you get to that area you then physically search for the hidden cache.

It's a great way to get out and enjoy the outdoors and to get exercise while still being the gadget geek that many of us are.

Once you get your GPS unit just visit Geocaching.com and set up a free account with them. You'll get your own page called "My Cache Page". As you find caches you then return to Geocaching.com and post a "Find" on the page of that particular cache. Your "My Cache Page" will keep track of your finds along with other useful info.
