Five Easy Pieces for Technology Planning
Frank Watson, from UVM's College of Education (emeritus), has developed a five point program for assessing information technology plans emphasizinig data collection and action planning. The key elements are:- A needs based professional development assessment (Millikan based)
- Student standards development (collecting samples of student work)
- Support structure assessment (feelings and committment of leaders)
- Overall, external technology plan assessment (every 2 or 3 years)
- Policy development strategy (how does the plan itself development, e.g. vis a vis hiring policies)

Physics - e-learning versus s-teaching
Why is it that undergraduate students have such a hard time "grokking" physics ? There's a lot of information, but more interesting is the apparently larger number of courses that ignor it (evidenced by course notes and catalog descriptions.
