Babbling Brook

Brook was born on Halloween 1998. I had a hard time getting her to Maryland because of snow. We left here Christmas morning to drive to Kentucky to pick her up as it was to cold for her to fly. Well we only made it a few hours away and the van started acting up so we turned back for home. It was two more weeks before my baby could fly to Maryland. I was at the air port waiting before she even left Kentucky. Brook was a very special girl we connected on a level that only happens once in a life time.
Brook was bred on Thanksgiving 2000. We were so very happy to be having puppies. God must have not been ready because sadly Brook only had one pup and it was born dead, a little girl we named Chevy. Ever hopeful we did breed Brook a year later we had a little better luck this time she was carrying 8 pups but sadly only one survived (Charm). We found out that Brook has Uterine Inertia (she does not have the ability to go into stage two of labor). The end of Aug. 2002 I noticed Brook's neck was swollen and took her to the vet for what I thought was an abscessed tooth. After doing a needle aspiration we found out she had Lymph Node Cancer Brook was put to sleep on the 6th of September 2002. I am so happy I got to spend the time I did with her as she was my best friend, but I am very angry that her life was so short.
