Welcome!

I'm Bob Sinclair

-more recent picture- -another more recent picture- -larger picture-

I'm interested in all kinds of things; tropical plants and animals, aquaria (especially native fishes), computers (of course!), fishing, motorcycles, cars, weather (ESPECIALLY storms), travel to unusual places, calligraphy, different religions and spiritual traditions, and reading about everything and anything. Stick around as this page evolves; I'll try to provide links to the some of the more interesting (and useful) things I find... Meanwhile:

I used to live on the side of a mountain in a small town on the Connecticut River in Eastern Vermont...

However, in order to reclaim what sanity may still be had for all concerned, about five years ago I jumped the river and became a resident of New Hampshire. (YES, that means I'm now "separated" - VERY separated - from that old life.) I now live in a nice old farmhouse that belongs to my friend Dave. My new home is a bit funky but is really nice; it has an active trout stream right across the street, plenty of garden space (Dave's mom was renowned for her flower gardens), and is generally a nice, peaceful, positive place to live. The picture in the background is a rather fuzzy satellite photo of the farmhouse, the woodshed slightly to the south, and Dave's barn with the stream in back of it across the street.

I'm back online now. You can contact me through the link at the bottom of this page... (it's probably the best way to get in touch with me and KNOW I'll get your message!). I'll get back to you in short order!

This page is very much a work in progress; I hope to be updating it frequently... come back and visit to see what's up in my life :)

This is my favorite picture of daughters Sara and Laura. It was taken quite a few years ago - Sara's now working on her PhD. at Dartmouth after graduating Magna Cum Laude with a double major in Computer Science and French at Wellesley; Laura is 16 and doing well also.

Why does this man have a motorcycle on his table -

and what kind of bike IS that, anyway ? *

Covered Bridge

The longest covered bridge in the USA,

with Mt. Ascutney in the background; the Windsor/Cornish covered bridge spans the Connecticut River and connects Windsor, VT with Cornish, NH

This prayer wheel repeats the Tibetan mantra "Om mani pahdme hum".

I got the prayer wheel from the website of Osel Shen Phen Ling (A Tibetan Buddhist Center in Missoula, Montana, and a member center of the Foundation for the Preservation of the Mahayana Tradition) who requested that if I use it that I provide a link to their page, so if you'd like to know what they're about, click here.

* It's the elder Bob Sinclair's (YES, there are two of us) corporate photo when he was CEO of SAAB's operations on this continent; the bike was his "SAABSA" - BSA frame, powered by a three-cylinder SAAB two-stroke engine, Vincent primary drive...
