The Launch of http://MINImeet.ca - the Official MINImeet 2004 Web Site!

This year's event is "The Wolfe Island Adventure" - a special Island Rally/Scavenger hunt, evening entertainment and our now famous "Track Experience Day", expertly managed by our own Jack 07734.

Check out the new site, particpate and add your thoughts to the forums and (for sure) download the registration form and get it in. MINImeet 2004 is limited to only 60 MINIs. Last year was a sell-out, and we know this year will be as well.

If you were at MINImeet 2003, you know how MINIamazing the weekend was. If you've seen the videos and slide shows you know you want to be part of MINI and Wolfe Island lore. You can see all the vids on the new MINImeet Home Page. Be sure to check out the Fearless Video.

Did you know we set a record for the most cars ever on the Wolfe Islander ferry? 50 MINIs and 28 others - on a 55 car boat!

Wolfe Island anxiously awaits our return. Your MINI anxiously awaits its chance to get to Shannonville!

Although we've been quiet, we've been busy! Here's the news:

Kingston City Council is considering our request to shut down the street in front of City Hall on September 12th for the Greatest MINI Show 'n Shine ever! We'll certainly attract some attention from the locals!

We're working on a Friday night gathering at the Lone Star (next door to the HoJos in Kingston) if you're thinking of arriving on September 10th. Details will be provided in a future Update.

The Buffalo Sabres announced today details regarding their Sabres Insider campaign that will result in one lucky Sabres fan winning a Towne Mini Cooper in September.

“We are excited that the Sabres and Towne Automotive Group can offer this once in a lifetime car to one lucky fan,” said Buffalo Sabres Managing Partner, Larry Quinn. “We are always looking for new and exciting ways to market our team and this Sabres Mini Cooper will certainly be noticed throughout the Western New York area all summer long.”

The Buffalo Sabres lovable mascot, Sabretooth, will be on tour in '04 with the Sabres Mini Cooper throughout Western New York and Southern Ontario the entire summer. To enter the contest, fans 18 and over must register where the car is displayed, to become a “Sabres Insider” and receive special ticket offers, newsletters and inside information on the Buffalo Sabres. By registering on location, fans will be automatically qualified to win the Mini Cooper and will be able to sign up to receive information for the Mini Cooper Insider program.

Bronte park has been booked for the 2nd annual SOMC BBQ. The pavilion is ours from 08:00-22:00 and holds 125 people. There is a nominal charge to get into the park. There is also much more to do this year for the children. Bronte park has a swimming pool and that will be an additional charge if you wish to go for a dip. We will be charging per car to attend, the fee will be around $10-$15 to recover the cost of the rental of the pavilion. Specifics are still being worked out. We most likely will do the same as last year assigning things to bring.

We have people working on games, Like three legged races, MINI egg relay race, and of course wheelbarrow races. prizes will be given so every one will participate. Get ready!

We are in the last 2 weeks before our 2nd annual MINI Road rally/picnic. If you plan on attending please let us know. The rally will begin at Outwater Park in Lockport at 10am. Regristration starts at 8am. To participate you need a MINI, a navigator, and the $20.00 entrance fee and a willingness to have fun with your MINI. There will be a picnic to follow at Krull Park for all. To participate in this event you would need to bring a dish to pass. MINI Club of WNY has rented out the Lions pavilion for this event. Hot Dogs and hamburgers will be provided. We have plenty of room for all so let's motor on in our 2004 MINI TSD road rally. Remember this will be the only one for this year so if you miss this one you will have to wait until 2005! Hope to see you on June 12. LET'S MOTOR.
