Be willing to teach your game to others.            Be willing to learn new games.

Rob Roy is a noted authority on board games.  He wrote the chess column for a major Connecticut newspaper every week for 25 years, and has edited and published many monthly magazines on chess and on backgammon.  He served as president of the Connecticut State Chess Association for more than ten years.  He has been the founder and tournament director of the Connecticut Backgammon Society since 1978.

He has also been a driving force behind many clubs, and has organized hundreds of chess tournaments and backgammon tournaments across Connecticut.

The concept of a “Games Club” is a new one for Connecticut.  It will be a great success because the greater Norwich area is local to the Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun Casinos in Connecticut.  This area is home to professionals in the gaming industry.

We are looking to meet on either Monday evenings or Tuesday evenings, which is a day off from work for many of these people.  I will consider first meeting once per month, but the goal is to meet once per week.

Our meeting place needs to be free and open to the general public.  The broad range of games listed above will attract people of all ages and backgrounds.  I will offer free instruction on the games above and I will recruit other volunteers who will teach their own favorite games via group classes and individual lessons.

Those who would like to join us can email:        RobRoy810@Gmail.com
