Here is where I will post any obits that are looking for a good home. Right now I only have this one but who knows what the future will hold.

See my Links page to search the Cleveland Public Library for obituaries.

Thomas Czarniecki, age 17, of Independence, Cuyahoga County, Ohio, was killed in a car accident. Thomas was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard CZARNIECKI. This undated clipping from an unknown Cleveland newspaper was found in a photo album that belonged to my grandmother Marie KIBBEE ROSNAGEL. According the Cleveland Public Library's online necrology files this accident occurred in February, 1975.

Here is what I've been able to find on the CZARNIECKI family. The marriage of Leonard CZARNIECKI and Florence MAJSTEREK is recorded in the Cuyahoga County Probate Court, volume 234 page 142. I'm not sure what year this would be but probably before 1944. Mr. and Mrs. Leonard CZARNIECKI attended the funeral of Mary Ellen ROSNAGEL in February, 1947 (follow this link to view a transcription of the book - page 4 - and an image of the page). The necrology files at the Cleveland Public Library site give the parents of Thomas as Leonard W. CZARNIECKI and Florence MAJSTEREK. His siblings are Leonard Jr., Sharon Detrick, and James. Leonard's parents may have been Kazimer/Casimer CZARNIECKI and Helen SZEZECHOWSKI. The father of Florence may have been Frank MAJSTEREK. In short, I figured out enough to know this is not my family but probably friends of my grandparents.
