Roger started his career at the Rythem Inn in Millers Falls, MA, at the age of 16. At this time he was driving a 41 Ford Coupe.

After driving at the Rythem Inn, he continued racing on dirt at Lebenon Valley Speedway. Then moved to the high banks of Monadnock Speedway and Claremont Speedway. Running at this time in the 162 Ford Modified. (The reason for the 162-in the year 1962, his son Chris was born, and a crew member, Earl Freyenhagen, was married. There was already a 62, so they added the 1.) During this time, the car was worked on at Roger's house.

Then in 1988, a change came to the team. With a new sponser, John C. Stewart & Son Ford, Roger then switched to driving a full-bodied orange Ford Pro Stock, the #62. Then moving the whole operation to Chris' house. Raymond Racing was then formed.

In 1989 Roger won the Pro Stock Championship at Claremont Speedway, and repeated it in 1990. In 1990, Roger, Chris and C.J. Stewart, tried their hands in Busch Grand National North racing. The high price, and changing rules, was not anything the team was ready for!

Switching back to Pro Stocks full time in 1993. Roger has accumulated 54 Pro Stock wins, and 115 top 3's, in 327 in races ran, with the ProStock #62. Winning the 1997 Pro Stock Winston Racing Series Championship at Monadnock Speedway, giving him 8th in the New England Regional Points. Sending Roger, Wendy, Chris, Deb, C.J. and Janet to Nashville, TN, for the awards banquet.

Through his racing career, he has had many accomplishments. Below is a list of those accomplishments.
