Comet Ikeya-Zhang
This comet was one of the brightest comets to date since comets Hyakutake and Hale Bopp graced our skies in 1996 and 1997. It was visible to the unaided eye even from suburban areas if you knew exactly where to look and was easily seen sporting a short tail from dark sites. This photo was taken in early 2002 when the comet was visible just after sunset in the western sky.
