2003 UB313 images taken on consecutive days (8-31-2005 and 9-1-2005).
Success after almost 2 months of trying since the announcement of the discovery of this object. Discovered by Michael Brown of Caltech. This was taken with a CCD under suburban skies. It was difficult to get 2 consecutive days of relatively steady seeing, low humidity, little haze or pollution, and no moonlight. Since this object was so faint and not visible with amateur equipment, I had to rely on TheSky6 to accurately point the telescope, take multiple images over several days, and confirm motion of the object. These images were published in the February 2006 issue of Astronomy magazine, and as far as I know were the first amateur images published in the U.S.
CCD: SBIG STL1001E Exposure: 4 minutes Equipment: Paramount, C-14.
