MRS. REBECCA REDMOND {Mercer Dispatch March 12, 1915}
Mrs. Rebecca REDMOND, aged 73 years, died Friday of paralysis, after a brief illness. She was stricken twice, and death coming a few hours after the second attack. She was born in Eastern Pennsylvania and came to Mercer when quite young. She was married three times and is survived by five sons and one daughter: Walter, Austin and Quincy, of Mercer; Fred and Harry of Oil City, and Mrs. Emma KISSICK, of Ellwood City. She was for many years a member of the Methodist Episcopal church; was a woman of fine Christian character and kind and loving disposition, and had devoted her life to her family. The funeral was held Sunday afternoon at 2:30, was conducted by her pastor, Rev. Dr. R. F. RANDOLPH. Interment was made in the Findley Cemetery.

Frank REDMOND, a well known resident of Mercer, died Sunday at his home in the East End after a lingering illness. He was 67 years of age. Mr. REDMOND was a carpenter and followed his trade until incapacitated by failing health. He was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church, a man of integrity, and had the respect of the entire community. He is survived by his wife and several children. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. J. A. MCCAMEY. Interment was made in Findley Cemetery.

Walter B. Redmond, McKinley Avenue, Mercer passed away early this morning in the Mercer Hospital following a short illness. He was born in Mercer August 27, 1865 son of Albert and Rebecca Gilbert Redmond. He was a carpenter by occupation and had lived in Mercer all his life. The family attended the Methodist Church in Mercer. Mr. Redmond was twice married, Annie N. Chapen preceded him in death in 1911. In 1915 he married Julia A. Hosack who survives with two sons, Forrest K. Redmond, Pittsburgh and Kenneth B. Redmond, Mercer. There are three grandchildren. A brother Austin E. Redmond, Mercer also survives. Services will be held at the Earl C. Miller & Sons Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Saturday, with friends to be received tomorrow afternoon and evening.

Austin Edward Redmond, 84 year-old Mercer resident, died at approximately 2:30 p.m. yesterday of a bullet wound which Deputy Coroner Dr. A. J. Lyons, Grove City, said was apparently self-inflicted.He was discovered on the floor of his kitchen at approximately 3 p.m. by a neighbor, and examination by state police and Dr. Lyons revealed the bullet had entered the left side of the skull. A son of Albert and Rebecca Gilbert Redmond, he was born on May 4, 1872, in Mercer where he also lived most of his life. For 37 years he had been employed at the Reznor Manufacturing Co., retiring eight years ago.
He was thrice married. Ella Mae Redmond died in 1897; Alice Clark Redmond died in 1910; and Myrtle Buckley died in 1947. Surviving are the following children; Geraldine M., wife of Jack Lightner, Mercer; Josephine, wife of Leon Perrine, Greenville; Theodore A., and Everett A., both of Mercer, and Blondale J., of California. There are 17 grandchildren. A daughter, Mrs. Thelma Ryder died in 1951.

Mrs. Austin {Ella Mae} REDMOND died at the Cottage State Hospital at an early hour Thursday morning from the effects of an operation performed at that institution on Wednesday. The deceased had had several severe illnesses in the past year and it was in the hope of restoring health that she was removed to the hospital last week and underwent an operation. The deceased was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew REDMOND, of this place. She was aged 23 years and leaves a young husband. She was a member of the Second Presbyterian church. The funeral will be held from her father’s house, Saturday morning at 10 o’clock

Mrs. Austin E. {Alice} REDMOND, aged 35 years, died Wednesday evening at the Cottage State Hospital. She was a daughter of John CLARK and was born and raised in Mercer. She was a woman of good character and had the respect of all who knew her. Her husband, three sons, three daughters, and three brothers, Fred, Chester, and Garfield CLARK, survive. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m., conducted by Re. Austin J. RINKER, and interment will be made in Findley Cemetery.
