The Beginning . . .
1971-1975- These years were spent developing the knowledge and techniques needed to breed angelfish. During this period, Silver (wild type), Marble, Blue blushing, and Gold angels were being bred, spawned, and raised in our small western New York hatchery.
1976-1977- Four sub-dime sized Gold Blushers (g/g-S/S) were discovered in the tanks of Scalare Hatchery of Niagara Falls New York. These beautiful little fish were the first all white angels that I had ever seen. They grew to form two pairs. We spawned and distributed hundreds of these rare Blushers to the serious hobbyists and breeders throughout western New York.
1979-The "Orange Cap" angel was offered for sale by the California based company, Golden State Aquatics. These were essentially the same Gold Blushers that we were working with. They were being bred in Asia, and were being imported to California. From there they were distributed in limited numbers throughout the U.S. We were fortunate to have acquired ours three years earlier.
