The Circle of the Mountain Fire is a Correllian Wiccan coven
in Colorado Springs, Colorado. We offer an alternative for people looking for a
teaching coven in this region.
The Circle of the Mountain Fire was originally formed back on
21 December 1997 when three people got together for a Yule ritual. Within six
months, the Circle grew from the original three to seven members. By June 2001,
there were eight members. In June 2001, the coven was temporarily disbanded due
to personality issues.
The Circle of the Mountain Fire started out as an eclectic
group with no particular training in any specific Tradition or path. The leaders
of the group, RainBear and MegasTu, have had training in Lakota, Gardnerian,
Correllian, Mithril Star and Georgian Wicca as well as in ChristoPaganism and
JudeoPaganism. MegasTu is currently working on his final project for my Second
Degree in the Correllian Nativist Tradition.
The Circle of the Mountain Fire is recognized by the
Correllian Nativist Tradition as an official proto-Temple within that Tradition.
This does not mean that any potential members are expected to become lock
and step Correllians! Rather, much of the materials that would be offered in the
Circle of the Mountain Fire would be based on the Correllian Tradition and the
First Degree would be recognized by that Tradition. At the same time, however,
there will be other materials covered beyond what the Tradition expects for its
First Degree candidates. Some of this would include more intense training in
herbalism, working with essential oils, psychic development, Jewitchery, and
metaphysical philosophies. This means that, officially, the Circle of the
Mountain Fire would be a Correllian group, but it will cover much more!
The proposed training would include meeting one day a week for one week of
theory per section, one week of psychic exercises and magical training per
section, one week of mythology per section (learning about one Goddess or God),
and a chance to review what has been covered along with with an examination to
help ensure that everyone has learned the presented materials. There would,
ultimately, be a Final Examination and Project.
Vision for the coven: The Circle of the Mountain Fire
is an eclectic Correllian Wiccan and Judeo Pagan group in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
It is a working coven which offers intensive studies in the fields of Wicca,
spirituality, and psychic development. It operates under the auspices of the
Correllian Nativist Tradition of Wicca. The focus of the group
is to bring Healing, Peace, and Nurturing to the members of the group and,
by extension, to the World. We seek to work together as a spiritual family as a
coven and as friends.
The group seeks to provide Harmony and Balance. We strive to
deepen our understanding of self and others. We
encourage our individual members to develop an ever growing relationship with
their respective Patron Deity or Deities as is unique to each person.
We honor
a diverse pantheon of Deities, Male and Female, animal and pure spirit, and
all religions as authentic paths to the Ultimate Source. We teach that all Gods are the One God and that all Goddesses
are the One Goddess ... and that They both are facets of the Universal Source or
Creator!
All Life is sacred to us, which is to say we strive to
honor the Divine Light inside ourselves and in all others and make
connection with that Light as often as possible. We strive and seek to promote a sense of honoring the Divine in
Deity and within everyone and everything (Namaste "I honor the Divine
within you").
We actively embrace the belief that a better
understanding of Nature leads to a better understanding of ourselves and our
role in the Universe. To this end, we strive to work with Nature and to conduct
and perform our rituals in Nature whenever possible and appropriate.
We live the Wiccan Rede which asserts, "Do as ye will an harm
ye none." This honors free will and profound respect and reverence for
all Life! As a supplement to the Wiccan Rede, we teach the following
| |
I recognize nature as sacred and magickal;
I am a part of nature, not master over it;
I regard the divine as both feminine and masculine;
I respect my natural magickal abilities;
I strive to avoid causing harm for others;
I accept responsibility for my actions. |
