I was the only solo finisher of the 402.5 mile 2005 Longest Day Challenge bicycle race in Lancaster, PA with a time of 35 hr 42 min. This year I'm dedicating the ride to four local shelters. See more information below on the ride, the shelters, and how you can help!

I met the love of my life, Jenn. She's the most amazing, beautiful person I've ever known!! Our meeting had to be with the assistance of Divine Intervention, because a more perfect match is impossible!!!!  On December 4th, 2004, Jenn said YES to a lifetime of love together during a carriage ride through Central Park in NYC. I'd list everything that I love about Jenn, but my website would run out of space - she's a fantastic runner, cyclist, hiker, (plus all the mushy stuff I can't say here)....you name it - she's the best! On September 3rd we exchanged vows for an eternity of love at Christ Lutheran Church. Click on the link to see pictures of us, including wedding pictures and pictures of a four day hike through the Adirondack Mountains (Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures of the black bear that visited our camp on the last night).  Check us out!

My 2006 ride calendar (so far) : 2006 will include some of my favorite charity rides (MS150, Tour de Cure, H. Ray Wertz Ride to Read, The Nightmare Tour) as well as some more challenging rides (The Longest Day Challenge and the Adirondack 540) If you know of any other great rides around the area, let me know! I'm always looking for new rides!! For pictures from the 2005 season, click here!

This year I'm dedicating the Longest Day Challenge to four specialized residences supported by Catholic Charities: Interfaith Shelter for Homeless Families, Evergreen House for women recovering from addictions, Hope House for individuals living with HIV/AIDS, and Lourdeshouse Maternity Home. After reading in a newspaper about the increased costs these services are experiencing, I felt compelled to help raise the awareness of their programs and need for funds. The Interfaith Shelter for Homeless Families is the only program in this area that keeps the family together. This year their annual fee for the use of their facilities from the state went from $1 to over $56,900! These programs and the people they serve are in great need of our help. For more information about the programs please go to www.hbgdiocese.org and select Specialized Residences. To sponsor me with a 100% tax deductible donation, use the same link and click on the picture of me & my crew labeled Solo Bicycling Challenge.
