Exhausted. He couldn't go any further.

Believe me, there isn't much to do in Radcliff, KY., only restaurants and a Wal-Mart. We went out to eat lunch after we left the base and the Patton Museum, then went to Wal-Mart for a few hours. We drove around to see a little of the town for another couple hours, then back to a another restaurant to eat again. Brian ate his body weight at both meals. I couldn't believe how much food this skinny guy could consume.

We finally ending up in our hotel room since we couldn't find any entertainment worth doing. We ended up buying a movie on the cable TV service. He sat on the floor the whole way through the movie, but once it was over, he hopped up on the bed and laid down. He wasn't there but a few minutes and he was out like a light. Poor fella was beat. He didn't get much sleep the night before, or the whole last week for that matter, so he was exhausted. He slept for a few hours, then I had to wake him up to take him back to the base. It was 1:00 am and I was feeling pretty tired myself and was afraid if I waited much longer, I'd be out too. So rather than run the chance of him missing his formation at 3:00 am, I took him back to base at a little after 1:00 am. I really hated to have to take him back to the base. I'd have rather just brought him home with us, but he still has a few more months of training.
