Voice of Cheez plays music by Frank Zappa. With a playful attitude and low-budget theatrics, Voice of Cheez is dedicated to keeping Frank’s music alive and delivers an entertaining show for the faithful and the uninitiated.
Voice of Cheez shows are neither cultish "Zappamania" imitations, nor sterile note-for note recitals—they’re spirited rock'n'roll, played with a sense of fun and respect for Zappa's musicality and wit.
The repertoire represents each era of Zappa's prolific career, including songs from Apostrophe, 200 Motels, Freak Out, We're Only in It for the Money, Overnite Sensation, Weasels Ripped My Flesh, Bongo Fury, Ruben and the Jets, Lumpy Gravy, Hot Rats, The Grand Wazoo, Roxy & Elsewhere, Man From Utopia, Joe's Garage, Sheik Yerbuti, and more. A generous helping of Frank's doo-wop oriented songs showcases the group's considerable vocal talents.
