This is a major rewrite of Version 1.0. Unlike Version 1.0 which utilized a proprietary database system, this version utilizes the Microsoft Jet Database Engine for all database storage and access. The system remains very intuitive, in spite of the many new features that have been added. This new release incorporates all the desired features I received from feedback, as well as some of my own thoughts regarding enhancements.
The following new features are included in Version 2.0
Multiple LogBook Feature
This feature allows the User to create any number of LogBooks (e.g. Home log, Mobile Log, Net Log, etc.). Each LogBook is separate and distinct from the other.
Out of Line Add FeatureThe system will allow you to enter QSOs in any sequence you wish. It will automatically sort them by Date and Start Time as they are entered. Your LogBook will always be kept in correct chronological sequence. This is also a useful feature if you wish to enter info from your old paper Logs.
Print QSO Report FeatureThis feature will allow you to select a range, or all QSOs to print. Included in this feature is a file export facility which will allow you to export the printed data in spreadsheet file format or another format of your choice.
Ham Bands Frequency Allocation FeatureDisplays the frequency allocations for all the current ham bands, along with the allowable modes of operation.
Time Set FeatureThis feature will allow you to select either your Local Time or UTC time for your LogBook.
GoTo FeatureAllows you to go to a specific date in your LogBook.
Automatic "Notes on File" Tracking FeatureThe system will automatically provide an indication that you have previously stored additional information for this station. A simple click of the mouse will then provide this information to you.
Version 2.0 has been written on a 16 bit platform to permit compatibility across all versions of Windows. It has been tested on Windows 3.x, Windows 95 and Windows 98. The VB40016.DLL module required for execution is NOT included as a part of this download. This was done to reduce download time, as many Users already have this module on their system. If you don't know whether or not you have VB40016.DLL, try running the system. You'll find out quick. If you do not know where to download VB40016.DLL, you can contact me.
The system is approximately 3.2 MB in size and will take about 20 minutes to download via 56kb modem. After installation, please read the README.WRI file that will appear in your application directory. It will provide all necessary instructions for proper use of the system.
The following links will show you some sample screen shots from the system. Use your browsers Back button to return to this page.
