The documents presented here are intended solely for the educational use of students in history classes at Cleveland State University. Wherever possible the original spelling, capitalization and usage have been retained. In many instances these differ from modern standards. Generally the older the document the greater these variations tend to be, particularly as regards to spelling which was not standardized until the work of Noah Webster in the Nineteenth Century. Comments about the documents are italicized and separated from the texts either by a line or brackets {}. Bold text has been used to indicate emphasis included in the original sources. Underlining is used to draw attention to passages that are particularly significant.
