President
Mike Miceli - email
Mike here
Mike joined as a non-boater in 1998, and has been a contender in
every tournament since. This is his first year as Club President, after being Treasurer in
2003. He will always give the rest of the non-boaters a run for their money, and when the
season is done, he is usually near the top. In 2002, Mike was on the winning team for the
TOC held at Lovell's Lake, and again proved his Big Money status by being on the winning
team for the 2003 TOC. Mike loves to throw the jerk bait, but after many days on the
Charles has become deadly with the jig and pig. His newest techniques include deep water
Senko and Ika fishing, which have made him a threat now to all non-boaters in those great
New Hampshire waters. He has qualified for the State Championships in 1999, 2000, and
2001.
Vice President
Bryan King - email Bryan
here
Bryan is a founding member of the club. He had exciting years in
1999 and 2000, with many 2nd place finishes. In 2000 he broke out with his first win at
the Connecticut River, and has maintained many high finishes since. In 2002 he was a
winner in three of the first four tourneys. Also in 2002, Bryan broke a four-year-old club
record by catching 14 pounds at Lake Champlain. He has been the club's Mr. Bass in 1999
and 2000, and runner-up for Angler of the Year in 2000, 2001 and 2002. In 2003 Bryan
finally earned the clubs Angler of the Year honors. Another honor bestowed upon
Bryan was the Mass Bass Man of the Year Award for 2003. His techniques vary,
but he is often seen throwing a buzz bait all day long in some tournaments. He has gone to
the State Championships in 1997, 1999, 2000 and 2001and 2003. He has been an officer for
the past six years, is presently the Youth Director for MLH, and the Secretary for the
Mass Bass Federation. He is sponsored by Lunkers Bait & Tackle, Accent Fishing Products, Hogsticker, North Pond Tackle, Al Cappy Custom Rods, Sport Sunglass and Mepps.
Secretary
Ross Benavides - No email address at this time
Ross is a second year boater this year. Ross spent his first year
learning the skills needed to compete in tournaments, and became a versatile fisherman
with the Carolina Rig, Senko's, and Buzzbaits. In his very first MLH tourney he was one of
the only three participants to catch fish. He now enjoys fishing Lake Winnipesaukee and
Lake Singletary, and with his smaller (more economical, versitile, and very for SALE)
boat, he has learned the excitement of fishing for fierce smallies in the Quabbin
Reservoir. In his first year he qualified for the Fish Offs on Lake Winnipesaukee and was
voted into the officers position of MLH Secretary for the 2004 season.
Treasurer
Bob Gavin - email Bob
here
Bob joined in 1999 and continues helping out the club this year as
the Treasurer after being the club President for 2001-2003. Bob's first tourney win came
on Winnipesaukee, which is one of his favorite lakes and another at the Big Bass on
Whitehall in 2001. In 2003 he again reigned supreme on Winni by winning it again. In 2003,
Bob was also a member of the winning TOC team that pulled off a come from behind win. Bob
was honored with the club's Mr. Bass in 2001. He has qualified for the State Championships
in 2000, 2001, 2002 and 2003. His favorite baits include the Carolina rig, jig and pig and
the Senko. He is sponsored by Lunkers
Bait & Tackle.

Secretary
Jim Mcdonald - email Jim here
Jimmy is one of the stronger contenders in the non-boater division
and an original member of MLH. He was "Angler of The Year" in 1996 and 1997 in
the non-boater division earning him the title of "back to back Mac". In 2003, he
won the title back after winning three of the six tournaments. Maca is a fierce
competitor, rising up during big tourneys; especially those team tourneys where he becomes
even better. He is relentless with the "clown" jerk bait, but loves to throw the
rig, jig and pig, Senko, and the rubber worm with the Weenie Weight. He qualified for the
State Championships in 1997.
Member
Tim Phelps - email Tim here
Phelpa is one of the original members and has been a steady
non-boater. He was the "Angler of The Year" for 1998 and 2002 in the Non-boater
division after winning three consecutive tourneys. Tim's club consistency keeps the other
non-boaters on their toes, and he always finds himself in the 1,2 or 3 spot at the end of
a tourney. Phelpa's crowing achievement was in 2002. He won the lunker award in three out
of the six tourneys, but more importantly shattered the previous club record by four
pounds with a 20 pound 4 ounce bag caught at Mashpee-Wakeby. Phelpa has gone to the State
Championships every year since the club was formed in 1996! His highlights there include
winning lunker at a State tourney in 1997, and winning Lunker at the State Fish-offs in
2001 on the Connecticut River.

Ron is a new boater this year, but not new to tournament fishing. He has fished the ABA,
MASS BASS, and Freedom Trails, and will be doing two of the Everstart Series this year on
Lake Erie and Lake Champlain. He is a strong advocate for conservation, and often times
just enjoys fishing for any species with either a spin cast or fly rod. He also LOVES Lund
boats!

Jim Straubb - email Jim
here
Jim is new to the club this year, as well as tournament fishing. That should not lull the
non-boaters into any good feelings though! Jim is in charge of ponds and lakes weed
management for the State of Massachusetts, so he spends more time on the water than most
fisherman do. It is that passion that has allowed him to take up fishing in his free time,
and he looks to be an instant contender in all MLH events.
