This is my basement where I like to work with wood. There is something very rewarding about taking some boards and converting them in to something of beauty and maybe something that will serve a purpose for a number of years. I'm still collecting power tools but I have also discovered that some of the most rewarding work is that done by hand. There is something nice about the way wood feels and sounds as it is being worked. |

My favorite wood is cherry. In fact the floor in my home are cherry.
I have made several pieces of furniture with it and I just finished this
sofa table for my living room.
The little cherry table is one of my favorite things I have ever made. I made this for a wedding gift for my niece and her husband. |

This is a set of soft pine blocks that I have often made for church flea markets and bazaars. It is a copy of a set I had as a child (and still do for that matter). They are large in size and the complete set measures 22" by 13 3/4" by 2 3/4". I had so many years of fun with these and now I have the joy of knowing others will too. |
| I have made several dressers and night stands using knotty pine which
seems to go nicely with the decor of my New Hampshire home that is mostly
paneled in pine. I also enjoy making the pulls for most of my pieces to
give them even more of a custom look.
I guess I have this idea that some day I will be able to retire and build furniture. |

On the left is a little jewelry/letter box I made for Ken to give him
on our first anniversary. It is made of Cherry and has a removable walnut
tray. It has a hand rubbed oil finish. It's always a lot of fun making
something special for someone special.
To the right is a table that I wanted for Christmas 2000 and just for the fun of it, I wanted to see how quickly I could build it. When I was done, I had just what I was looking for after 3 1/2 hours. |

When Kenny and I built our bedrooom suite with new bathroom, we got to test our carpentry skills quite a bit. I built this vanity using solid red birch hardwood. It has lots of storage, 4 full extension drawers and the hardware is polished nichel. |
