(last revision 8/25/06)
- All games will be AREA rated and the ladder standings will
be based on the AREA rating.
- Players can have as many ladder games going at one time as
they wish.
- Note that since we are using AREA ratings, you can improve
your rating by defeating a player of lower rating.
- If you want to challenge a specific player, email me
with your challenge. This is just to avoid putting peoples email addresses
on this site. If you just want to play any player, you have three
choices:
- Post a request on the GCACW forum on Consimworld
- Post a request on the GCACW mailing list. You can
sign up for this at the GCACW
Web Site
- Send a request to me. I'll post it on one of
these for you.
- It is recommended that players use one of the dice rollers
available on the internet. My experience is that returns from these
are very quick so should not cause undo delay. Players are of course
free to trust their opponent to roll dice or use the dice rollers built into
Aide-de-Camp
(ADC), VASSAL
or CyberBoard PBEM
assist programs.
- It is recommended that ADC, VASSAL or CyberBoard to play
these PBEM games. Since most of the games are no longer available for
purchase, this is the only way some players will be able to play.
(Hint to new players: Check out using ADC, VASSAL or CyberBoard if you do
not have a copy of it but want to play it.) You will still need to
find the rules somewhere though.
- Players are free to decide on which scenario or campaign
game they want to play. Bidding for sides can be used.
- Move response time. Players need to discuss this
before accepting a challenge. Some players only want fast games while
others do not have the time for this. Better to iron this out before
you get started. Let me know if during a game the response time gets
excessive and we will see if we can work something out.
- After having two rated games versus the same opponent, you
will be limited to a maximum of 1/3 of your ladder rated games versus one
opponent. The ladder is provided to help players find opponents so it
should not be a problem finding many players to challenge.
