ACTIVITY TITLE: Banana Republic Shopping Spree

YOUR INVESTIGATION:


This is your chance to shop. You read in the paper that Banana Republic is having a huge sale. Your job is to use your knowledge of percents to get the best buy. The extra money will allow you to go to the movies tonight in your new outfit with your friends.


QUESTIONS TO GUIDE YOU :

1. You found two great shirts. You could be happy wearing either one. Will you buy the shirt for $17 at the % off or the $19 shirt at the higher % off?

2. You want to buy a pair of pants next. Should you buy one pair at the 1/2 off or a more expensive pair at 50% off?

3. Shoes are next. Your first choice is to buy one pair and get the second pair free. Your second choice is to buy two pair at 25% off each pair. Which choice is the best buy?
