ACTIVITY TITLE:
CASSINI
SUBJECT AREAS:
Space Science, Astronomy
YOUR INVESTIGATION:
This is the accomplishment of a lifetime! You are the leader of the team that has
created the Cassini, a probe that is making a major contribution to our understanding
of the evolution of Earth's atmosphere by studying that of Saturn.
You are about to hold a news conference and report your progress to the world. Thousands of school children wait to hear about the probe that carries their names on a disk into the heavens and to Saturn itself.
QUESTIONS TO GUIDE YOU:
- What is the relationship of Saturn to the other planets?
- Which of Saturn's features are most notable?
- What satellites does it have?
- What do we hope to learn as a result of this mission?
- What specific tasks will this mission incorporate?
- How will what we learn help us to know our own world better?
- Where is Cassini now?
