If you have ever been to a new city and want to
feel right at home, visit Elmira N.Y.
Gary Yoggy, Nancy MacCaig, and the cast of the Elmira Little
Theatre were wonderful hosts to Gale Storm and our group.
Gale was radiant!
The excitement was almost overwhelming as we celebrated Gale Storm's 80th birtday and also the 50th Anniversary of My Little Margie. It was thrilling to watch Gale Storm perform in in the My Little Margie segment of the Return to the Golden Age of Radio production at the Clemens Center.
Friends arrived from Virginia, Massachusetts, Missouri, Florida, Georgia, New Jersey, and New York to be a part of this wonderful weekend. We were guests at the Lindenwald Haus, a fabulous Bed and Breakfast located in Elmira. The gracious hosts made us feel right at home, and soon we all felt as if we were members of the family who runs the house (Sara, Woody, Fred, Linda and Hayden).
Gary Yoggy (who arranged for Gale to be the guest star and who was director of the show), and the cast of the Elmira Little Theatre, were very friendly and we could feel the excitement as they rehearsed and performed with Gale Storm. Dick Gagnon, Richard Bullis and Allen Freeman decorated the lobby of the theatre with memorabilia of Gale's career and Anthony Woodworth arranged 80 long stemmed red roses in honor of Gale's Birthday. Jim Overman and Larry Skinner also provided memborabilia for the display. Chris Scotto, John Lawler, and Richard Gagnon provided transportation. Nancy MacCaig, not only organized dinners and luncheons, she wrote a wonderful article about Gale. This was the most fantastic weekend anyone could have imagined.
Thank you Elmira for sold out crowds, for your
hospitality and thank you Gale Storm for sharing not only your
life, career, love and your friendship, but also your very
special 80th Birthday.
