INTRODUCTION: The birth of Christ was in accordance with the promise of God and the fulfillment of His prophecy. His birth took place at exactly the right time and in the right place. Jesus was the bread of life, was born in Bethlehem, the House of Bread. He was the
son of God, born of the virgin Mary to pay the sin debt at Calvary for each of us. I. HIS BIRTH WAS OF DIVINE PROMISE: Genesis 3:15, Isaiah 9:6, 7 1. The promise was from the Divine 2. The promise was for our Deliverance 3. The promise was feared by the Destroyer In the same chapter that Adam and Eve sinned, God promised a Saviour. Jesus would be born of a woman and He would destroy the Devil’s power. The
Devil would see to it that Jesus would die on the cross. But Jesus raised from the dead so that we could be saved. II. HIS BIRTH WAS THE FULFILLMENT OF OLD TESTAMENT PROPHECY: Isaiah 7:14, Micah 5:2, John 3:16 1. Prophecy of the person - Jesus would be born of a virgin 2. Prophecy of the Place - Jesus would be born in Bethlehem 3. Prophecy of the Power - Isaiah 53 - Jesus would die so that we could be
saved III. HIS BIRTH WAS ANNOUNCED BY ANGELIC PROCLAMATION:

HIS BIRTH WAS OF HOLY SPIRIT PERFORMANCE: Luke 1:45 1. The angels delivered the News - Luke 1:26-35 2. The angels declared His Name - Matthew 1:21-23 3. The angels delighted in His Nativity - Luke 2:12-14 V. HIS BIRTH WAS ACCLAIMED BY EASTERN POTENTATES: Matthew 2:1-11 1. They followed the Star - Matthew 2:1-2 2. They found the Saviour - Matthew 2:9-10 3. They faithfully shared - Matthew 2:11
VI. HIS BIRTH WAS ATTACKED BY SATANIC PERILS: Matthew 2:1-16 1. Herod diligently searched for the Child - Matthew 2:13, 14 2. Herod demonstrated his true Character - Matthew 2:16 3.
