Land of the Morning World Missions Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. II Cor. 9:7 For all of you who read Mountain Sonshine, more specifically, for all of you who read this article, God's work needs your help. God's work in the Philippines is calling out, God's mission in the Philippines needs His people to look inward and say to the Lord, with a sincere heart, "Lord, what would you have me to do? You've given me so very much. Lord, what would you have me to do?" The Lord led me to a piece of property in the Philippines. He led me to put a down payment on that land and I did as the Lord instructed. There is now a balance of $56,000 on the land that God wants. You see, with that land God will be able to consolidate His mission there. We will build a ten-classroom Bible institute, male and female dorms, a cafeteria, library, fellowship hall, pastoral housing and workers' quarters. The land will make the institute 80 percent self-sufficient. That will enable the institute to grow and to train people to go out into God's fields. We have already planted 60 mango trees and 30 papaya trees. We have started a garden, have a well with a 6 HP diesel pump installed and have installed 250 yards of irrigation hose. Additionally, we plan to have a fish pond and chicken coops which will also provide food for the institute. Folks, God has shown me that this property is the future of His work in the Philippines. With it, pastors and their families can also be fed; pastors that are doing God's work in the churches that have been started through this mission. What I'm asking for is you, God's people, to go to your knees and simply ask God, "What would you have me do, Lord? What would you have me give to Land of the Morning World Missions?" and then obey God. Simply obey God. Pastors, would you ask your church to pledge a donation for this great work of God that is being built in the Philippines and let me know what has been pledged. God has been so good to us here in the U.S. We truly have been blessed. God has given to us greatly. Can't we find it in our hearts to give Him back some of what He's given us. James 2:15 and 16 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? Send your donations to Land of the Morning World Missions, Mountain View Baptist Church, 12107 Walnut Point Road, Hagerstown, MD 21740. I'll thank you in advance for doing what the Lord would have you do. Bro. Jim Olmstead Director/Founder, LMWM I Sam. 2:8 Nuggets of Gold 1. A Bible that is falling apart probably belongs to someone who isn't. 2. A frown is a wrecked smile. 3. I don't know why some people change churches; what difference does it make which one you stay home from? 4. A faithful friend is an image of God. 5. The best carpenter in the country was asked, "Which is your best tool? Instead of pointing to a costly power saw or drill, he picked up a simple square and said, "This is the best tool; it makes all the others work." Let us not overlook our best tool: the simple gospel (Romans 1:16). In this verse, Paul gives four reasons why the gospel is our most effective weapon: First, it is power. The original word is similar to our word for dynamite. Second, it is of God. Though Rome with her imperial power was great, the power of God was greater. However sincere the motive, any alteration or substitution of that power only weakens it. Third, it is unto salvation. In addition to being a past event and a future hope, salvation is a present reality. It can turn hate into love, despair into hope and defeat into triumph. Fourth, it is for everyone. The saving power of the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ is for all! |
