I Can't Remember Just a line to say I'm living, that I'm not among the dead. Though I'm getting more forgetful and mixed up in the head. I got used to my arthritis, to my dentures I'm resigned. I can manage my bifocals, but, oh my, I miss my mind. For sometimes I can't remember when I stand at the foot of the stairs, If I must go up for something, or have I just come down from there. And before the fridge so often my poor mind is filled with doubt. Have I just put food away or have I come to take some out. And there's time when it is dark with my nightcap on my head, I don't know if I'm retiring or just getting out of bed. So, if it's my turn to write you, there's no need for getting sore, I may think that I have written and don't want to be a bore. So, remember that I love you and wish that you were near. But now it's nearly mail time so must say goodbye, dear. There I stand beside the mail box with a face so very red. Instead of mailing you my letter, I had opened it instead. -Author Unknown Circuit Rider News By Evangelist Lynn Munson As we look at the month of July and the celebration of our nation's independence, we need to remember and be thankful for all who have served and fought to preserve the freedoms that we enjoy today. Many died to defend our physical freedoms, but only One had to shed His blood that we could enjoy our spiritual freedom. Praise the Lord that Jesus was willing to leave the glory of Heaven, suffer all that He suffered on this earth and shed His blood on the old rugged cross that our sins could be forgiven. We cannot thank the Lord enough because He paid the price that nobody else could pay! The first Sunday in March, Sharon and I attended a special service at Grace Bible Church near Greencastle, PA, where we told about the mission trip to Romania. Pastor Herm Fisler and two men from the church went along to Romania. We had a great time with everyone there and the Lord continues to burden hearts for the ministry in Romania. After that, we were at our home church, Mountain View Baptist, for their annual missions conference. The next Sunday we were with Pastor Paul Beatty and his folks at Flatwoods Baptist Church, Flatwoods, WV. I did Sunday School and a special service on Jehovah's Witnesses Sunday night. There was much interest and many questions about these people who come knocking on your door. We should be as dedicated at getting the truth out as they are in spreading their false message. The next Wednesday I filled the pulpit for Pastor Scott Kidwell at Shining Light Baptist Church in Damascus, MD. The third Sunday of March found me doing a Special Missions Emphasis Sunday at Central in Rohrersville, MD. I showed slides from Romania and preached. In April we were invited to go to a Revival Service at Life and Liberty Baptist Church in Frederick, MD. My heart was moved by the good preaching and by all the warm fellowship. The next week I gave a missions update during the Missions Conference at Ambassador Baptist Church in Frederick, MD. That Sunday I journeyed back to Central and filled the pulpit for Pastor Vic Moon. The month of May was a little different for our ministry and us because we were close home most of the month. We were able to help our daughter and son-in-law get their new house ready to move into. Please keep them in prayer as they are expecting twins near the end of July! I have also been able to get some much-needed repairs done to our home. It is amazing how things pile up! I filled the pulpit in my home church several times. My pastor, Bill Clark, is having some health problems and needs your prayers. Please pray that the Lord will heal him and that he will get his strength back. Praise the Lord for him and the help and encouragement that he has been to us and this ministry. Sharon and I praise the Lord for all of you who pray for and support this ministry! You have a part in everything the Lord is doing through the Circuit Rider Ministry. Please keep us in special prayer as we have a lot of open dates for meetings this year! We need the Lord's direction and your help (both prayers and support) to stay on the road serving Jesus! If this is a ministry that the Lord has burdened you to help or we can be of help to you, please call me for more information. My home phone number is 301-797-4458 or e-mail me at munslynn@aol.com. |
