SEVEN SPECIAL BLESSINGS AT CHRISTMAS

TEXT: Matthew 2:1-12

 

INTRODUCTION:  The sudden switch from worldly, fleshly, suggestive, senseless, sounding fury signifying nothing; to the beautiful meaningful message of Christmas.

 

  I.  SONG WE CAN SING  Luke 2

       A.  Joy to the world, the Lord has come.

       B.  Amazing Grace that saved - I’ve Been to Calvary.

       C.  There is joy in my heart - I’ve got that old-time Religion.

 

 II.  STAR WE CAN FOLLOW  Matt. 2:9

       A.  Something we can look to - not a flashing meteorite.

       B.  Something we can lean on - dependable, durable.

       C.  Something we can be led by that will not fail.

 

III.  SCRIPTURES WE CAN TRUST  Matt. 2:15

        A.  Author who knows in detail.

        B.  Authority that cannot be questioned.

        C.  Action that still works.

 

 IV.  SPIRIT WE CAN OBEY  Matt. 3:16-17

        A.  His call for salvation.

        B.  His commission in service.

        C.  His comfort in sorrow.

 

  V.  WE NEED A SERVICE WE CAN ENJOY  Luke 2:9-10

        A.  Keep your eyes on Jesus.

        B.  Keep your ears in tune with Jesus.

        C.  Keep your mind on Jesus.

 

 VI.  SAINTS WE CAN LOVE  I John 2:10

        A.  We need each other’s prayers.  James 5:16.

        B.  We need each other’s presence.

        C.  We need each other as partners.

 

VII.  SAVIOUR WE CAN WORSHIP  Matt. 2:2

        A.  We worship Him because of His Person - the Lord.

        B.  We worship Him because of His pardon - forgive all sin.

        C.  We worship Him because of His position - Eternal God.
