Sunday School Curriculum Fall 2005

"Our Episcopal Hearts"

 

Nursery age children will have Sunday School available in the nursery room during the 10:00 AM service. All other ages will be accommodated directly after the 10:00 AM service. You may contact Donna King for more information.

 

Schedule of events: 

Nov 20th Launch unit with reading of the book “Where Love is, There God is Also” during sermon time. Announce our theme and associated projects during church announcements. Class time: Set up information areas and displays for our theme. Prepare the Giving Tree for the Nashua Soup Kitchen. This is our gift for the first week of Advent.

Nov 27th (Advent 1) Announce the Giving Tree during church announcements. Be prepared to discuss the project with others in the congregation immediately after church. Take time with our own families to select gifts that we can contribute. Class time: Prepare display and a handout of needed items for our collection for the Humane Society in Nashua. This is our gift for the second week of Advent.

Dec 4th. (Advent 2) Announce our Humane Society donation drive during church announcements. Hand out prepared lists for the drive and set up the collection point. People will have 2 weeks to drop off items. I will deliver whatever is collected to the animal shelter on Dec 19th. Class time: Prepare for raffle to support the Heifer Project. I will take care of getting something to raffle. Raffle is for church members only and tickets will be available on Dec 11th and Dec 18th. Our goal is 1 or 2 flocks of geese or chickens $20 each. This will be our gift for the third week of Advent.

Dec 11th (Advent 3) Announce raffle during church announcements. Sell tickets immediately following church. Prepare for the penny drive for the American Diabetes Society. Penny drive will consist of handing out small gift boxes with instructions for people to collect their spare change and return them to the church on or before January 8th (Epiphany). This will be our gift for the fourth week of Advent.

Dec 18th (Advent 4) Announce penny drive during church and final chance for raffle tickets. Draw raffle winner. Hand out sugar containers and instructions. Class time prepare gifts donated to the Giving Tree for delivery (I will deliver). Start Christmas Pageant rehearsals.
