Welcome to the Internet home of the Eagle Pass & Moose Lake RR

The EP & ML is an intermountain connecting road that links the Florida East Coast Railway with an imaginary medium sized town (Moose Lake) served regionally by the EP & ML Railroad. Eagle Pass is home to several industries and has regularly scheduled  passenger service provided by the FEC. The road is mountainous with valleys, streams, a waterfront, and long steep grades. The small town of Moose Lake part of which is located on the layout. Check the layout page for specific information.

The EP & ML is not prototypical. It is my vision of what I have always wanted in a model railroad. This is my fourth and largest layout. You learn in layout building by reading, listening, and observing and then the only way is to build a layout. This fourth and final layout is a compilation of 45 years of what I have learned in model railroading. Unfortunately, I find that I have forgotten some of the techniques that I learned in the past.  Other constraints in building the EP & ML is that evil of all evils ... money and of course space and time. Of course, time is always a factor ... these things don't get completed overnight. Buying a new basement (2400 square feet) with a house above it has taken care of the space factor and allowed me to build.
