Strasburg Railroad and the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania
The sound you are hearing is Strasburg's #90
These two attractions are located across the street from each other in Strasburg, Pensylvania.
Strasburg is located in southeast Pa. about an hour from Harrisburg. It is the heart of Lancaster county's
famed Amish country. This pleasant little community is a great place to visit just to get away for awhile and relax.
The Strasburg Railroad runs steam operations about nine months per year. They own several locomotives and in the height
of their season run two trains at a time on their shortline railroad. Three times per year they also run "A Day Out With
Thomas" event where they run a full size version of Thomas the Tank Engine to pull a passenger train.(great fun for children)
The Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania boasts a huge collection of steam locomotives that has to be seen to be believed.
They are open year round and they are a great source of information for P.R.R. history.
There are too many other area attractions to list. Check-out the Strasburg area links page on the S.R.R.'s home page.
