A little about me.

Baby Ry only a day old!

Well, where do I start? Hmmm. My name is Eric Mount, and I currently reside in Chillicothe Ohio with my Wife Tina and our son Collin James. He was born at 5:26 am on November 24, 2001 after only 6 hours of labor! (We were doubly blessed that night!!) Our five, (yup, that many) cats let us live in our house in exchange for food and plenty of attention! LOL
I work in a factory in Waverly and have so for the last 11 years. I personally hate it, but in this economy it's hard to find another job that pays as well with benefits, and it pays the bills.

I have been making Chainmaille for the last 8 years or so. I was/am the typical nerdy kinda guy, into roleplaying games and such since high school, and attended the local Rennaissance Fair (Ohio Rennaisance festival near Cinci) a couple of times a year. I guess this was just another logical step. I had seen Chainmaille at the fair, but was alway turned off at the steep price!

Well, what really turned things around for me was my computer. While I was recovering from my neck surgery, I decided to get one to help me pass the time. One day after returning from the fair, it hit me to do a search for chainmaille.
WOW! I didn't realize how much information was out there! I found a great site that taught me everything I needed to start, and that was it! I went out and bought everything I needed and started down this path.

More recently, I came across several maille oriented message boards. Lord Charles' Chainmaille Bulletin board , The Ring Lord's forum (I hang out there mostly) and the M.A.I.L. organization, and they have incresed my knowledge of the art tenfold. Definately check them out!

Starting in Feburary of 2002, I hope to be able to open up some time to do some workshops in the local area. So, if you, your gaming group, or any other kind of group would be interested in learning the basics of making chainmaille, drop me an E-mail and we can work something out. I really love teaching others this hobby/art form
