Easter People
Easter Sunday was a wonderful worship service of celebration and renewal. The music was varied and inspiring. All of us were lifted into the presence of God as we sang and affirmed the good news of the resurrection. From start to finish the glory of our living God was lifted up.
Yet, let me remind you, Easter did not end with Easter Sunday. What we enthusiastically bore witness to on Easter morning is the foundation of our lives as Christians. It is the hope of the world. The resurrection of Christ ushered in a new reality that has transformed forever the landscape of human history. Regardless of how routine or set in its ways the world may seem, Christ alive is an active, driving force who triumphs over all evil and brokenness. Easter is not over...nor is it on hold until next year.
Since, as Easter people, we are children of this marvelous new reality, let me encourage us to trust what God has done for us in Christ. We can live with confident hope for the future, peaceful assurance in the present and transformed beyond the limitations of our past. The resurrection of Jesus makes those who follow him a transformed and transforming community.
Thank God for this gift of new life.
See you in Sunday school and worship.
Grace and peace,
David
