INTRODUCTION
This web site was created for the exchange of Ground Search and Rescue information. I welcome any suggestions or comments you may have. Please email: Robert Wiseman, SAR@crockettsar.com
I am a career captain with the Howard County (Maryland) Fire and Rescue Services. When I became a member of the HCFR Special Operations Team, I was exposed to Ground Search and Rescue and have been an avid search enthusiast ever since. I am now a ground/wilderness SAR instructor for the HCFR and Civil Air Patrol. I am also a NASAR SAR Technician I and a NASAR Coordinator. Operationally I am trained and operate in all capacities from Field Team Leader up to Incident Commander.
The intent of this site is to share information, other web site links, and make available to you files that I have developed and/or acquired. I have found that the exchange of ideas among search professionals is the most ideal method of expanding search knowledge beyond formal training. I will never stop learning from others. If the day comes that I feel I've stopped learning, that will be the day I should quit.
For those of you who are wondering "Why Crockett SAR?"
- Davy Crockett is simply a nickname I have acquired due to my SAR and outdoor interests. (Davy Crockett and Daniel Boone [you know who you are] are often seen working together on SAR incidents.)
Well, as they say - enough of the hub-bub, now on with the show. Below, the page is divided into five sections (in order): "Local Searches / Missing Persons", "SAR links", "Fire Service links", "Miscellaneous Links", and "SAR Operations Files".
