New Floors!!

DRCorniceMoulding.JPG (8845 bytes) This is the small crown molding in the Dining Room. It is actually plaster on a wood molding.
This is one of two surviving Mantels and the only real show piece. The tiles around the fireplace are Minton's "Four Seasons." We saw four of these mounted in frames for $550 in an antique store.

DRHeader.GIF (105335 bytes) This is the beam over the pocket doors between the parlor and dining room. The original builder thought a 2x6 could hold up four 20ft floor beams and that the 2 inch knot in the beam would not be a problem!!
A close up of the Parquet in the Dining room. Of course fully half is in poor to horrible shape (mastic, termites and paint!!) DRPaquet.GIF (63539 bytes)
And now for walls again.  These shots look NE and SE respectively.  The N Arch now has windows although just clear glass for now.

DR 10-00.jpg (14049 bytes) More new pictures, with furniture no less. To the left is the south wall, below is the view looking north west from the parlor.
