MD/DC/NoVa 2005 Spring PIGNIC!!!

   The Maryland/D.C./Northern Va. 2005 Spring Pignic
was held at Turkey Run Park in McLean, Va. on
Saturday, June 11th from 12-5pm.

   There were Piggies everywhere!
They were running around, popcorning and playing in pens
with each other and munching on yummy treats.

   The Metropolitan Guinea Pig Rescue (MGPR) had a table
set up where you could buy all kinds of cool piggie
stuff to benefit the rescue.

   Button is eager to come out and play with
the other piggies...Wheeeeeeeek!

   Audrey and Reese, the famous Recycled Guinea Pig
are enjoying this beautiful day.

   Maren and Sam are also having a jolly good time!

   Slaves came from far and near to enjoy this festive occassion.
Anita and Bill came all the way from Pennsylvania!
They were Slaves to the famous Piggie Smalls and Flannel,
who will Forever remain in our Hearts...

   Stephanie is taking a break with her
Stuffed Piggie Friend.

   Wheee had a very nice turnout with about
25 humans and 20 piggies.

   Many of the play pens were elaborately set up
and the Piggies absolutely LOVED it!

   Butterscotch and Brownie Bear had a Wonderful time playing
with piggies and their humans. The wooden house
was one of the many items for sale at the
MGPR table and they Love it.

   Wheee also raffled off lots of cool piggie merchandise from
Cavymadness.com to benefit the MGPR. Here,
my Hubby, Blaine is picking out a Winner.

   Reese, the Recycled Pig:
Aaaaaaaah, just look at that ADORABLE face!

   Maren's Hubby, Rich was being Bad so wheee
put him in the pen with the piggies
for some 'Time Out'.

   Dana, the Park Ranger came by and checked on
us and she was Amazed at how many Piggies
and Peoples came out to play.

   Butterscotch and I had a Fabulous time!
He was one happy boy piggie with all those CUTE girlie
pigs running around...Wheeeeeeek!

   Stephanie is an alpha female piggie who didn't mind
letting the other pigs know who's Boss.
GIRL POWER!

   Judi, from the MGPR, offered Nail Trimming sessions
with the piggies and showed us how to properly do it.
Here, Brownie Bear is getting her nails done
because a Pampered Pig is a Happy Pig!

   Butterscotch fell in Love with Anita...
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaah.

   Serendipity of the Famous Squee Squad proudly accepts
her 2nd Place Award for 'BEST TRICKS'.

   Rebecca's Pig, Phoebe wins 3rd Place for
the 'SMALLEST PIGGIE' Category.

   Stephanie won 1st Place for 'FEISTIEST PIG'.
Brownie Bear says, "You GO GIRL!"

   Snickers showed us how to 'follow the Slave' and won
1st Place for 'BEST TRICKS'.

   Rosie won 2nd Place for the 'WILDEST HAIR' category.

   Stacy from the Squee Squad presented Jasper's
3rd Place Award for 'WILDEST HAIR'.

   Sami won the 2nd Place Award for the
'CHUBBIEST PIG' category.

   Gobbles won the 1st Place Award for 'SMALLEST PIG'. Wheee
were very Sad to learn that he passed away a few days
later. He was 5 years old and had been suffering
with teeth complications. I'm sure Gobbles
was Happy to spend one of his last days popcorning
and playing with other pigs and he will Never be forgotten...

   Overall, wheee had a Good Time at our Pignic and
can't wait to attend many, many more!

   Our Piggies had a Wonderful time too!
And I enjoyed watching them and playing
with them and meeting people who are just as
Crazy about guinea pigs as I am.
