HTML 4.0    Character Entity References
(The Character Entity Set)

Reference: HTML 4.0 Documentation, Section 24
Latest Version: http://www.w3.org/TR/REC-html40

These tables were constructed from the lists in the HTML documentation referenced above. They contain the character references which HTML 4.0 supports.

PURPOSE:
To allow you to test which character references are recognized by your browser. And to show you how your browser displays the characters.

USE:
Examine the tables which follow.

EXPLANATION:
There is a row for each character reference.
The third column describes the character you will see if your browser recognizes the character reference.
The first column consists of the characters to be typed into an HTML document, in order to get the character.
The second column displays the character. If your browser does not recognize the character reference, the second column has the same contents as the first.

I made a mistake ?!   Moi?!   Don't be silly!
But if you notice that my system screwed something up, please let me know.
