NGC3344

NGC3344 is face on galaxy located in Leo Minor . It displays spiral arms in timed exposures such as this one but is just a smudge of light in the 11" scope .NGC3344 is a bright, large face-on galaxy that barely gets a mention in most books. It is a fine multi-arm spiral of type Sb. At magnitude 9.9 and of size 7.5' x 7', NGC3344 is easily visible in most amateur 'scopes, but being less well known than the Messier objects in Leo is probably missed by many.
