A mosaic of the moon just past half phase taken with my St5C ccd camera .The image is a composite of apr. 50 images taken on the 4th of December, 2000 thru a blue filter . Exposures were .01 in length which essentially "freezes" the atmosphere to provide good resolution. Without the blue filter the images were just too bright for the camera and the images were saturated even at this short exposure time ! The 11" scope was operating at f 3.7 using the SBIG st5c focal reducer . The images were scaled for color and enhanced with unsharp-mask . The stitching together of the images was done with "Gimp for windows" using the clone tool to mask any edges!
