M20 The "Triffid"nebula
The Triffid nebula is located in the constellation Sagittarius just to the north of M8 the "Lagoon "nebula . It is a combination of both reflection and emission nebula and can be easily seen in small scopes from moderately light polluted skies to the south in summertime . This image is a composite of one 5x120 and one 3x240 seconds images ! Image aquisition ,guiding with Star 2000 and all processing was done in AA 3.0 . The scope was a Celestron Ultima11" SCT at f 3.0 using a meade 3.3 FR . The camera was an MX7c ccd camera from Starlight Xpress .
