M1 the "Crab"nebula is the remains of a supernova that was witnessed by many back in the year
1054 AD.The supernova was so bright that only the sun and moon were brighter . This is a 55 min
exposure on Kodak Gold 1000 at f6.3 with the 11" scope in skies that were fair. The exposure was
longer than I would normally take as I was trying to bring out some color {the reds and blues} and it did to some degree. It comes in at magnitude 8.4 and is fairly easy to acquire with a small scope!
The "Target" like Telrad circles superimposed on the chart below indicate the position of M1!
A grid of Right Ascension & Declination to aid in the location of M1 using setting circles is also included!
