B33 "Horsehead "nebula

An image of B33 the "Horsehead" nebula and surrounding area located in Orion just south of the lower star of Orion's belt known as Alnitak . The image is an LRGB taken with an St5c mounted with an E-finder from Sbig. The exposure times were 3x6 min red,3x4 min green 3x8 min blue and 4x4 min luminance. Guiding was done using Star 2000 with an MX7c thru a Celestron Ultima 11 . Processing of the color frames and luminance was done in AA 2.0 . Registration of the color frames was done in CCdops 5 and final stitching of the color and luminance frames was done in Photoshop ! The E-finder is actually a very small f4 telescope created when an fr237 focal reducer is screwed onto a 4" tube which is then attached to the St5c cd camera and finally to a camera mount on the main scope. The main problem with this setup is the focusing is done by sliding the fr 237 in and out of the E-finder tube so really good focus can be difficult to achieve.
