Author of Classic Children's Books

Dean Marshall was the author of

six classic children's novels:

A House for Elizabeth    (1941)

The Long White Month  (1942)

The Silver Robin            (1947)

The Invisible Island        (1948)

Dig For a Treasure          (1949)

Wish On The Moon       (1951)

Dean's books are much beloved by anyone fortunate enough to have come across them, especially as a child. They are perfect to read to a child from about five years old, or for a child to read to themselves from about 9 years old. A House For Elizabeth and The Long White Month may appeal more to girls, while the later books will provide equal enjoyment to boys or girls. Sadly, they have all been out of print for many years. They are highly collectable, and fairly scarce in used book stores as most seem to have been sold to libraries. Fortunately, they can still be found in many libraries, or can easily be borrowed through inter-library loan. This site was created to increase awareness of this fine but neglected children's author. I hope you enjoy it!
